Legal
Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of this website and any estimate request you submit through it. Please read them, in particular the sections on independent suppliers, the disclaimer of warranties, the limitation of liability and dispute resolution.
Effective: September 5, 2026·Last updated: September 6, 2026
1.Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Find Steel Buildings (“we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your access to and use of findsteelbuildings.com and all content, data, research, tools and services made available on it (together, the “Site”).
By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Site, or by submitting an estimate request through it, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.
Certain provisions materially affect your legal position, including the disclaimer of warranties, the limitation of liability, the release relating to supplier transactions, and the dispute-resolution provision with its individual-arbitration requirement and class-action waiver. Please read them carefully.
2.Eligibility and use of the website
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of a business or other organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind it, and “you” includes that organisation.
The Site is offered from the United States and is intended for users located in the United States. We make no representation that the Site or its content is appropriate or available for use elsewhere.
We may modify, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or where necessary to protect the Site or its users.
3.About Find Steel Buildings
Find Steel Buildings is a research, comparison and estimate-request resource. It is not a manufacturer, contractor, erector, structural engineer, permit authority or building-code authority, and it is not a party to any contract you enter into with a supplier.
Find Steel Buildings covers steel building projects nationwide across the United States.
Our public identity, address and contact channel are set out in the final section of these Terms and on our About page.
4.Research, comparison and referral platform
The Site provides four things: independent research and educational material about steel buildings; comparison material; information about suppliers; and the facility to submit an estimate request that may be passed to suppliers. It provides nothing else, and no other role should be inferred from any page, heading, graphic or label.
We do not manufacture, engineer, design, sell, quote, finance, deliver, erect, install, inspect, service or warrant any building, building kit, component or related service. We do not act as your agent, broker, representative, adviser, fiduciary, joint venturer or partner, and we are not an agent or representative of any supplier.
Unless a specific statement on the Site expressly says otherwise, we do not control and are not responsible for any supplier’s pricing, availability, lead times, engineering, design, manufacturing, materials, delivery, installation, licensing, insurance, permits, code compliance, warranties, customer service, contract terms or performance.
5.Quote and estimate request service
The estimate request flow lets you describe a steel-building project and provide contact details so that suppliers can respond to you. Submitting a request authorises us to process the project and contact information you provide for the purpose of fulfilling that request.
When you submit an estimate request, the project and contact information you provide may be shared with one to three verified suppliers so that they can contact you about your project.
By submitting a request you agree that the suppliers who receive it, and we, may contact you about the project you described using the contact details you provide, including by telephone call, text message and email. That authorisation covers communications about your request; it is not consent to unrelated marketing, and consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You may withdraw it at any time as described in the Privacy Policy; an instruction given to us stops our own communications, and a supplier’s communications must also be stopped with that supplier.
Find Steel Buildings does not operate a real-time automated matching engine and does not guarantee that you will receive any quote, a particular number of quotes, a particular price, or a response from any supplier.
Submitting a request does not create any obligation to purchase anything, and does not create a contract between you and any supplier. A contract arises only if and when you and a supplier agree one directly.
6.Independent suppliers and third parties
Suppliers, manufacturers, dealers, contractors, erectors and other businesses described on or reachable through the Site are independent third parties. They are not employed, controlled, supervised, sponsored or guaranteed by us, and their presence on the Site is not an endorsement, recommendation, ranking or certification of them.
Information about a company may come from that company or from public and third-party sources, and may be incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for your own due diligence, including confirming licensing, insurance, references and contract terms directly with the company before committing to anything.
7.No supplier or transaction guarantee
We do not guarantee that you will receive a response, a quotation, a particular number of quotations, a particular price, a particular specification, a particular delivery date, or a satisfactory outcome of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of anything a supplier tells you.
We do not verify, approve or underwrite any offer, contract, deposit, payment schedule, warranty or cancellation term proposed by a supplier. Review any document a supplier gives you, and obtain independent professional advice where the value or complexity of the project warrants it.
8.Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- your use of the Site and anything you submit through it;
- the accuracy and lawfulness of information you provide;
- obtaining any professional advice, engineering, survey, permit or approval your project requires;
- your own dealings, negotiations, contracts and payments with suppliers; and
- maintaining the security of any device or account you use to access the Site.
9.Accuracy of information you submit
You represent that information you submit is accurate and complete, relates to a genuine project you are planning or evaluating, and that you are the owner or authorised user of the telephone number and email address you supply and may lawfully consent to being contacted at them. Do not submit another person’s contact details without their permission, and do not submit requests for testing, competitive, automated or fraudulent purposes. We may decline, delay, correct or delete a request we reasonably believe to be inaccurate, duplicated, abusive or unlawful.
10.Informational and editorial content
Research, guides, comparisons, glossaries, diagrams, tables and reference material on the Site are published for general information and project planning. They are prepared under the standards described on our Editorial Standards page, which also explains how we source figures, how we label assumptions and how corrections are handled.
We do not warrant that content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular project, and content may change without notice as sources, standards and market conditions change.
11.Building, pricing and technical information
Dimensions, configurations, clear spans, bay spacings, component descriptions, load discussions, code references, weather and climate discussions, cost ranges and price figures published on the Site are nominal planning values. They are derived from stored inputs, published sources or documented assumptions, and they are not manufacturing drawings, engineered designs, code determinations or price quotations.
Any cost or price figure is illustrative planning information. It is not an offer, quotation or guarantee of price or availability. Pricing is set solely by suppliers and varies with specification, site, region, freight, erection scope, code requirements and market conditions.
Code and standard references describe general concepts and may not reflect the edition, amendment or local modification that applies at your site. Requirements are site-specific and jurisdiction-specific and must be confirmed with the authority having jurisdiction.
12.No engineering, architectural, legal or other professional advice
Nothing on the Site is engineering, architectural, construction-management, surveying, legal, insurance, tax or financial advice, and no professional relationship is created by your use of it. Structural adequacy, load determination, foundation design, wind, seismic and snow provisions, drainage, fire separation, accessibility, zoning, setbacks, permitting and inspection must be determined for your specific site by appropriately qualified and licensed professionals and confirmed with the authority having jurisdiction before you design, purchase, site or construct anything. This provision governs, and is not limited by, any narrower statement elsewhere on the Site.
13.Supplier reviews and what “verified” means
“Verified supplier” means that selected business or profile facts about the company have been checked against sources available to us at the time of research. It is not a guarantee of quality, licensing in any particular jurisdiction, insurance, financial standing, background screening or project performance.
Verification reflects only the specific business-information and source checks described in our editorial and research methodology at the time the check was carried out. It is not a background check, a licensing or insurance confirmation for any jurisdiction, a financial assessment, a quality assessment, an endorsement, a recommendation, or any form of governmental approval or accreditation.
Supplier reviews and comparisons express our editorial assessment of the information available to us. They are opinion and analysis, not statements of fact about a company’s future performance.
14.Commercial relationships and compensation
Find Steel Buildings may receive compensation from suppliers, providers, advertisers and other commercial partners, including compensation connected to estimate requests and referrals.
Compensation does not determine the conclusions of supplier reviews, comparison pages or editorial research.
Our full disclosure is published on the Advertising Disclosure page, and the privacy consequences of compensated disclosures to suppliers are explained in the Privacy Policy.
15.Intellectual property
The Site and its contents — including text, research, editorial analysis, methodologies, data compilations and the selection, structure and arrangement of the database behind them, supplier profiles, comparison frameworks, tables, diagrams, illustrations, renderings, photography, page templates, graphics, software, code, visual design, look and feel, and the Find Steel Buildings name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, database, trademark and other laws. Except for the limited permission in the next section, no right, title, licence or interest in any of it is granted to you. Third-party names and marks appearing on the Site remain the property of their owners and are used for identification only; their appearance does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.
16.Permitted use
You may view the Site, and print or save a reasonable number of individual pages, for your own personal or internal business use in evaluating a steel-building project. You may link to public pages of the Site from another website provided the link is not misleading and does not imply endorsement. Any other use — including republication, redistribution, resale, systematic downloading, framing, mirroring, database creation or commercial exploitation — requires our prior written permission.
17.Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- use the Site for any unlawful, deceptive, infringing or harmful purpose;
- submit false, misleading, fraudulent or unauthorised third-party information;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its accounts or its infrastructure;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with security, access-control, rate-limiting or robots directives;
- introduce malware or any other harmful code;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent an affiliation;
- collect personal information about other users;
- use the Site to compete with us by reproducing its research, structure or data compilations; or
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice.
18.Automated access, scraping and bulk extraction
Except for conventional indexing by public search engines that respects the Site’s robots directives and access controls, you must not use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper, headless browser, script, extension or other automated means to access, monitor, index, copy or extract the Site or any part of it.
You must not carry out bulk or systematic extraction of pages, data, listings, figures or supplier records, reconstruct or replicate any part of our database or its structure, or make substantial extractions or re-utilisations of it, whether in one operation or cumulatively over time.
We may apply technical measures to detect and block automated access, and may restrict or terminate access that we reasonably believe breaches this section.
19.Artificial intelligence, model training and dataset use
No licence is granted, expressly or by implication, to use the Site or its contents for the development, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, grounding, retrieval-augmentation or benchmarking of any artificial intelligence, machine-learning or generative system, or for building, distributing or selling any dataset, corpus, index or embedding derived from the Site, without our prior written permission.
This restriction applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, does not purport to restrict any use that applicable law permits notwithstanding this provision, and does not restrict ordinary public search-engine crawling carried out consistently with the Site’s published robots directives.
20.User submissions and feedback
Apart from the personal information governed by the Privacy Policy, any suggestion, idea, correction, comment or other material you send us is provided on a non-confidential basis, and you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use it to operate and improve the Site and our research, without obligation, attribution or compensation. Do not send us information you consider confidential or proprietary. We are not obliged to publish or act on any submission, and factual corrections are handled as described on our Editorial Standards page.
21.Third-party websites and services
The Site links to and reproduces information attributed to third-party websites, publications, standards bodies and suppliers, and relies on third-party hosting and infrastructure services. We do not control those sites, sources or services, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, availability, products, services or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.
22.Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, RESEARCH, DATA, FIGURES, DIAGRAMS, SUPPLIER INFORMATION, ESTIMATE-REQUEST FUNCTIONALITY AND OTHER SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, THAT CONTENT OR SUPPLIER INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT, OR THAT ANY ESTIMATE REQUEST WILL PRODUCE ANY RESPONSE, QUOTATION OR RESULT.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from us or through the Site creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
23.Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FIND STEEL BUILDINGS AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, GOODWILL, DATA, OPPORTUNITY, CONSTRUCTION COST OVERRUN, PROJECT DELAY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE, ANY CONTENT OR FIGURE PUBLISHED ON IT, ANY ESTIMATE REQUEST, OR ANY DEALING WITH A SUPPLIER, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, WARRANTY, STATUTE OR OTHERWISE, AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
The Site is provided to you free of charge, and these limitations reflect the allocation of risk between us on that basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct where such exclusion is prohibited, for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited, or for any liability or remedy arising under privacy or consumer-protection law that may not be limited by agreement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
24.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Find Steel Buildings and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from and against third-party claims, liabilities, damages, awards, losses, costs and reasonable legal fees arising out of or relating to: your misuse of the Site; false, inaccurate or unauthorised information you submit, including contact details you were not entitled to provide; your breach of these Terms or of applicable law; or your infringement of the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of a third party. We will notify you of any claim for which we seek indemnification and may, at our own expense, assume its exclusive defence and control, in which case you will cooperate with us. You will not settle any claim in a way that imposes an obligation or admission on us without our prior written consent.
25.Release regarding supplier transactions
Any quotation, negotiation, purchase, contract, deposit, payment, design, engineering, permitting, manufacture, delivery, erection, installation, warranty, service or dispute is solely between you and the supplier or other third party concerned. We are not a party to it.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible or liable for a supplier’s representations, pricing, product quality, workmanship, performance, timeliness, delivery, installation, warranties, refunds, cancellations, insolvency or contract disputes, and you release us from claims, demands and damages arising out of or connected with any such transaction or dispute.
This release is limited to claims arising out of a transaction or dealing between you and a supplier or other third party, and applies only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. It does not release any claim that cannot lawfully be released, and it does not affect any right you have against the supplier itself.
26.Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration provision below. Subject to that provision, the state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction and venue. This section does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the place where the consumer resides.
27.Dispute resolution, arbitration and class waiver
Informal resolution first. Before starting any proceeding, you agree to email info@findsteelbuildings.com with a description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to allow 60 days for us to resolve it informally.
Binding individual arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be settled by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration may be conducted in Wyoming, in the county where you reside, or by telephone, video or documents only, at your election where the rules permit. The arbitrator’s award may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class-action waiver. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis. You and we waive any right to bring or take part in a class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. If this waiver is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim, and only that claim, proceeds in court.
Opt-out. You may reject this arbitration agreement by emailing info@findsteelbuildings.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” within 30 days of first using the Site. Opting out affects no other part of these Terms.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or prevent unauthorised access to the Site.
28.Time limitation on claims
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms must be brought within one year after the claim arises, failing which it is permanently barred. Where applicable law does not permit the shortening of a limitation period, the statutory period applies instead.
29.Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms at any time by posting the amended version on this page with a new last-updated date. Changes are effective when posted and apply to your use of the Site from that point. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make it apparent. Your continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the Site.
30.Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable or, if that is not possible, severed. The remaining provisions continue in full force.
31.Waiver and non-waivable rights
Our failure or delay in enforcing any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of it, and no single or partial exercise of a right prevents any further exercise of that or any other right. A waiver is effective only if given by us in writing.
Nothing in these Terms asks you to waive, and nothing in them operates as a waiver of, any right you have under privacy or consumer-protection law, including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended and comparable state laws. Any provision that would have that effect does not apply to the extent of the conflict. How to exercise those rights is set out in the Privacy Policy and at Your Privacy Choices.
32.Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent, and any attempt to do so is void. We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, or to an affiliate. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
33.Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Advertising Disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and supersede all prior understandings on that subject. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship, and there are no third-party beneficiaries except as expressly stated. Section headings are for convenience only.
34.Contact and legal notices
Questions about these Terms, and formal legal notices, should be sent to:
