Research first, then request pricing if you want it. This page states exactly what happens to a request, who receives it, and what stays your responsibility.
The process, end to end

Research
Explore building types, sizes, components, locations, supplier research and comparisons. Nothing is required of you at this stage — no account, no contact details.

Submit project information
If you want pricing, you describe the project: building type, approximate dimensions, state and ZIP, timeline, and the contact details a supplier needs to reach you.

Your request is shared
The project and contact information in your request may be shared with one to three verified suppliers so they can respond to it. The disclosure appears on the form before you submit.

Suppliers contact you
One or more participating suppliers may contact you by phone, text or email about the project. How many respond, and how quickly, depends on the supplier, the region and the season.

You evaluate the offers
Any quote you receive comes from that supplier, not from Find Steel Buildings. Comparing them properly is the part that decides whether the project goes well.
Who receives your request
Request sharing
When you submit an estimate request, the project and contact information you provide may be shared with one to three verified suppliers so that they can contact you about your project.
Find Steel Buildings does not operate a real-time automated matching engine and does not guarantee that you will receive any quote, a particular number of quotes, a particular price, or a response from any supplier.
Find Steel Buildings may receive compensation from suppliers, providers, advertisers and other commercial partners, including compensation connected to estimate requests and referrals. Compensation does not determine the conclusions of supplier reviews, comparison pages or editorial research. What “verified supplier” means
“Verified supplier” means that selected business or profile facts about the company have been checked against sources available to us at the time of research. It is not a guarantee of quality, licensing in any particular jurisdiction, insurance, financial standing, background screening or project performance.
Evaluating a company for your specific project — licensing where it is required, insurance, references, contract terms — remains your responsibility.
What you should review before you sign anything
- Scope — what is actually included in the number
- Specifications — gauge, framing system, panel profile, coatings
- Exclusions — what the quote deliberately leaves out
- Delivery — freight, lead time, offloading responsibility
- Erection — whether construction is included, and by whom
- Drawings — what drawing set you receive and when
- Engineering — whether a sealed design for your site is included
- Permits — who obtains them and who pays for them
- Pricing — deposits, escalation, payment schedule
- Contract terms — warranties, cancellation, change orders
Two quotes for the “same building” frequently describe different scopes. Comparing the bottom-line number without comparing the scope is the most common and most expensive mistake in this market.
The role Find Steel Buildings plays — and does not
Find Steel Buildings is a research, comparison and estimate-request resource. It is not a manufacturer, contractor, erector, structural engineer, permit authority or building-code authority, and it is not a party to any contract you enter into with a supplier.
Suppliers set their own pricing, availability, specifications, contract terms, schedules and workmanship. Find Steel Buildings does not control those things and is not responsible for them, as set out in the terms and conditions.
